quasar energy group’s Municipal Manager Mike Maringer has recently received the Richard F. Melick Award from the Ohio American Water Works Association for his ongoing contributions to water plant personnel education and technical training. Mike has been training anaerobic digestion technicians, and water/wastewater operators for more than three decades. He currently conducts courses for the Ohio Training Committee of Ohio (OTCO), Bellingham Technical College, for quasar clientele and is an Operations Advisor for Algal Scientific. Previously he instructed for Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and was a Technical Specialist and Instructor for Industrial Fluid Management. Mike worked with the Campbell Soup Supply Company for 32 years where he served as the Manager of Services and Utilities and remains an Operator of Record.
Mike acquired his education from Northern Kentucky University where he received a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Natural Systems/Hydro-Geology from Defiance College and trained at the Management Program for Water & Wastewater Treatment Operations from Michigan State University.
Along with his extensive education, Mike has received multiple professional certifications including Class IV Water Treatment Operator, Class IV Wastewater Treatment Operator in the State of Ohio, and Grade WT5 Water Treatment Operator in the State of Indiana, Certified Visual Opacity Technician and is a Certified Laboratory Operator (OhioEPA).
Mike has been quite decorated with awards in his tenure. Most recently he received the F.H. Waring Award in 2013, the 2010 Crystal Crucible Award from the Ohio Water Environment Association (OWEA) and the 2010 Quarter Century Operator’s Club from the Water Environment Federation (WEF).
Mike also continues to play a vital role in the Lucas County project, interfacing with plant personnel on commissioning, training and operations.
